New Delhi [India]Feb 21 (ANI): EU envoy Ugo Astuto said on Monday that the EU is confident that India’s G20 presidency will “find a way out” in the Russia-Ukraine war.

In an interview with ANI, Astuto said that they have great expectations for India’s G20 presidency. Moreover, India has come up with a very ambitious plan backed by the EU, he added.

“We’re not living in a business-as-usual situation. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was completely unjustified and a clear violation of the UN Charter,” he said.

“…so it’s not a business as usual situation, but we believe that the Indian presidency will find a way to steer the process in a positive direction anyway. We intend to support Ukraine politically and economically,” he said added.

In recent months, the Russian war machine has been overly using drones to target military installations and other major infrastructure across Ukraine.

Meanwhile, at the EU headquarters in Brussels, Josep Borrell, the European Commission’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, said Ukraine needed more ammunition to counter growing Russian forces, in addition to other military support from allies Beyond the promise, CNN reported.

Russia has assembled “almost twice as many soldiers” in Ukraine as it did when the war started, he said, adding that the next few weeks would be crucial.

“Ukrainian forces urgently need large quantities of ammunition to counter Russian aggression,” Borrell said. “Guns need bullets.”

“For this, time is of the essence. Speed means life. We need to respond quickly. Not just more support, but faster,” added Borrell.

The best way to get ammunition to Ukraine quickly is to share existing European army stocks so no time is wasted waiting for them to be produced, he said.

He also said the EU must use products that are already produced and stored, or that have been contracted and will be produced in the coming days. According to CNN, the supply of supplies to the Ukrainian military must be prioritized, with the EU within its reach. (Arnie)
