ABU DHABI, 22nd February, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Inauguration of the Naval Defense Exhibition (NAVDEX) for Tunb Al Kubra Naval Ships during the 7th Annual Conference.
Following the inauguration, Sheikh Khalid was briefed on the ship’s state-of-the-art capabilities, including an advanced threat monitoring system and a helipad that can be used in maritime defense operations.
Developed and manufactured locally by Al Fattan Ship Industry, Tunb Al Kubra will be incorporated into the UAE Navy to provide logistical support to naval formations, ensure the safe transport of naval personnel and supplies, and assist in medical evacuations in crisis and emergency situations.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed was accompanied by Rear Admiral Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Commander of the UAE Navy; Rear Admiral Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief, Abu Dhabi Police; Rear Admiral Salem Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Chief of Administration and Manpower, UAE Armed Forces; Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of Dhabi National Exhibition Company; Mohamed Rashid Al Rumaithi, Chairman of Al Fattan Holding Investment Company; and some senior officials.
NAVDEX is a leading global defense industry event, attracting experts and innovators from around the world to share knowledge, forge partnerships and showcase new products and technologies being developed by UAE and international companies.
