Kezad aims to promote food security through largest integrated center

By enhancing its integrated ecosystem and strengthening the food supply chain, the Abu Dhabi Khalifa Economic Zone (Kezad Group) is working towards realizing the UAE’s vision of becoming the world’s most food-safe country by 2051.

Kezad is participating in the 28th edition of Gulfood, one of the world’s largest food and beverage sourcing events, to showcase its products, services and business solutions and build a strong presence among more than 5,000 participating companies from 125 countries , said a report by the Wam news agency.

Gulfood will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from February 20th to 24th.

These companies will have the opportunity to see how Kezad can create possibilities in the food industry by providing the right environment for growth and success. Visitors to the event will be able to see the key advantages Kezad has to offer and hear the experiences of companies already operating in the industry within the Kezad ecosystem.

Kezad’s food industry ecosystem currently covers over 7 million square meters (7.3 km2), of which 3.3 km2 is dedicated to Abu Dhabi Food Hub – Kezad, and over 40 global, regional and local company.

Kezad Group’s food ecosystem includes some of the world’s largest brands including Sadia, Pinar, Oasis, Nestle, Lacnor, Al Kabeer and AlDahra Kohinoor.

Upcoming projects in Kezad include a AED110 million facility by Pran Foods covering more than 42,000 square meters for local production and export in the MENA region, and a 2 million square meter facility with plans for another Expansion of 3 million square meters for the establishment of the Al Rawabi dairy production facility. The Dh650 million dairy farm will house 10,000 Al Rawabi cows and increase their export efforts in the wider GCC region, the report said.
