WATCH: Hamdan bin Mohammed to compete in UAE SWAT Challenge 2023

DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, attended the fourth edition of the UAE Police Training Center held at the Dubai Police Training Center in Al Rowaiyah on Thursday, 20th. SWAT Challenge – February 24th.

Sheikh Hamdan was briefed by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Mali, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, on the Special Forces troops from around the world participating in the event.

Teams participating in the Challenge will compete in five tests – Tactics, Assault, Officer Rescue, Tower Event and Obstacle Race. Al Marri said the challenges will assess teams’ tactical acumen, mental focus and physical stamina, and are designed to facilitate the exchange of expertise and the development of SWAT capabilities. The UAE SWAT Challenge 2023 featured 55 teams from around the world.

Sheikh Hamdan also took part in an event at the UAE SWAT Challenge 2023, where Dubai Police’s first all-female SWAT team, the Dubai Police C-Team, showcased their skills.

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police praised Sheikh Hamdan for his support of the Dubai Police Special Forces, which enables them to adopt global SWAT best practices. He noted that Dubai Police’s all-female SWAT team is a unique addition to the organisation’s special forces.

He said female SWAT members received extensive specialized training in all aspects of SWAT missions, including tactical shooting, raiding, sniping and endurance, which enabled them to acquire the high-level skills needed to compete in local and international competitions.

Al Marri further stated that Dubai Police is proud of its female officers, who are ambitious and eager to acquire the skills needed to excel in the professional world. He noted that they performed very well in the 6th Special Forces Police Championship organized by the Police Sports Federation and Dubai Police.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Hamdan received a souvenir from the all-female SWAT team as a token of appreciation for his support. He also posed for a photo with the leaders of the teams participating in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2023.
