Abu Dhabi: Airfares from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India are expected to rise by 10% to 25% starting from the first week of Ramzan 2023 from March 23, local media reported.
Earlier, Ramzan’s first fortnight was usually slow in terms of flight demand, before picking up significantly ahead of the Eid holiday.
One reason may be that this year’s school spring break and end-of-term holidays coincide with the beginning of Ramadan, which means that travel demand will increase rapidly.
according to a report gulf newsfrom March 21 to 30, a round-trip economy class ticket from the UAE to India will cost around AED 1,316 (Rs 29,710).
Inbound tourism demand is highest around this time of March and April because of the pleasant weather in the last month before summer.
“In India, schools are closed at almost the same time. From March 21, inbound tourism will be very active.”
“The next two months will be the peak travel season for inbound tourists from India. As for outbound travel, many blue-collar workers usually return to travel during Ramadan, resulting in slightly higher air ticket prices.”
Gulf News quoted Smart Travels general manager Afi Ahmed as saying.
