K-pop group GOT7’s BamBam speaks out about rumors that nearly made him quit

K-pop group GOT7’s BamBam recently discussed the dating rumors that led him to almost quit his idol job. He sat down for an interview for the March issue of Cosmopolitan Korea.

During the interview, he was asked what was the biggest crisis and the greatest happiness he encountered during his stay in Korea. In response, he explained:

“There is indeed a moment of crisis. (laughs) That was over five years ago, but… somehow I got involved in a dating scandal. It’s baseless, but it’s only been three years since I debuted.I got backlash for this and at one point even considered retiring“

According to the idol, the rumor caught him and his agency off guard, and he even cried during the photo shoot after learning about it: “My agency and I were caught off guard when the article first started circulating. It felt so unfair, I even cried during filming. I still remember that day clearly. I’m shooting a NYLON pictorial.That’s when I started really investing in my savings account“

He added: “I thought, ‘This time, I don’t have to retire because the rumors aren’t true…but one day I might have to actually quit this job when I start dating someone.'”
