The supporting space of the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Art Gallery will debut tomorrow, “Performing Cities,” the latest exhibition by the artist and NYU Joint Program Director of Art and Art History Sandra Peters.
As part of the exhibition, a temporary outdoor sculptural installation titled “City Center / Nomadic Monads” will be presented. It contains imagery, text and material samples related to the project, as well as devices that examine how architecture and public spaces in the UAE interact.
Professor Sandra Peters has exhibited her work widely in Europe, the US and the UAE, including Un-folded Cube (landscape mode) at FOYER-LA (2023); Pandora’s Box at NYU Project Space (2016); Aanant, Berlin Bilateral, Diagonal, Cube for Galleries and Zoos (2012); and in the group show Beheld Buildings. MAK – Architecture Reflected in Contemporary Art Photography of the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art (2011).
The Project Space is a non-commercial gallery dedicated to community projects in Abu Dhabi. It is located in the NYU Art Center and is sponsored by the museum staff of the NYU Art Gallery. The Senior Capstone Festival, faculty-curated exhibitions, experimental projects, and creations by emerging regional artists are just some of Project Space’s featured exhibits.
