World’s coolest winter boosts hotel revenue by $490 million

The third edition of the world’s coolest winter event concluded in Ajman’s Al Zorah Nature Reserve, with hotel revenues rising to AED1.8 billion (US$490 million), up 2 billion from the second edition’s AED1.5 billion %.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the event boosted tourism, natural attractions, and entertainment destinations and experiences in the UAE, achieving growth in domestic tourism WAM.

The World’s Coolest Winter Event boosted domestic visitor numbers to 1.4 million, an 8 percent increase over the previous edition.

The campaign saw very high social media engagement, achieving more than 5.8 million interactions across different platforms. The hashtag #WorldsCoolestWinter was used in more than 18,000 photos and videos on social media.

The campaign was accompanied by more than 161 promotional videos, produced by the UAE Government Media Office and the country’s content creators, which garnered more than 158.2 million views around the world.

Positive engagement reached 100% globally. Local, regional and global media coverage reached more than 190 million people.

Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, affirmed the event’s success in boosting the national economy and supporting domestic tourism, offering visitors a unique experience based on the diversity, heritage and cultural heritage of tourism in the UAE.

He noted that “the coldest winter in the world” embodies the goals of the UAE’s Tourism Strategy 2031, which aims to attract AED100 billion as additional investment in tourism and increase its contribution to GDP to 450 billion dirhams.

Bin Touq added: “The campaign succeeded in revealing our identity and heritage and introducing the rich culture of the UAE, building on the great success of past editions.”

Saeed Mohammad Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, said: “Through coordination and joint efforts between government entities and the private sector, the third campaign under the slogan ‘Our Heritage’ has successfully achieved its goals”

He thanked all World’s Coolest Winter partners for their hard work in making the event a success and uniquely showcased the country’s natural landmarks and beautiful destinations.

This year’s event celebrated the human element, heritage, national identity and authentic Emirati values.

Entities, facilities and tourist attractions focused on Emirati culture and heritage are actively participating in the movement through unique projects that celebrate local heritage, Emirati values ​​and embody the most salient features of national identity.

The event reflects the UAE’s keenness to introduce the country’s culture and heritage to the world, enhance its soft power and strengthen its position as a major world tourist destination.

For its third edition, the campaign has launched a new website with an interactive experience highlighting the most important landmarks and tourist attractions across all the emirates.
