DHAKA, March 4 (PTI) At least five people were killed and more than 30 were injured in a fire at an oxygen plant in Bangladesh’s Chittagong region on Saturday, officials said.
Locals said a loud bang followed a fire at the Seema oxygen plant in Keshabpur district in Sitakunda upazila, Chittagong at around 4:30 pm.

“The fire killed five people and injured more than 30,” private ATN News and other news outlets reported.
Nine units were mobilized to fight the blaze, fire department officials said, adding that the exact cause of the fire was yet to be determined.

Television footage showed Bangladeshi troops participating in the rescue operation along with firefighters.
The administrator of Sitakunda upazila told reporters that according to preliminary information, the fire has claimed five lives so far.
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased.
Last month, a fire broke out in a residential building in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, killing at least one person and injuring many others.
