Central Hotels & Resorts, the UAE’s top hotel management company, has donated AED1 million (US$272,000) to the Emirates Red Crescent’s ‘Bridge of Kindness’ campaign to help those affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The donation aims to provide relief and humanitarian assistance, including food, medical equipment, shelter and other essential items, to the areas and communities most affected by the earthquake. The “Bridges of Kindness” campaign was launched by the Emirates Red Crescent in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Community Development.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the displaced families and children affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We are deeply saddened by this news and hope that our donation will support any relief and recovery efforts to help alleviate their suffering ,” said Abdulla Al Abdulla, chief operating officer and group general manager.
The quake reportedly killed more than 47,000 people and left at least 164,000 buildings collapsed or damaged enough to require demolition.
“The UAE government has been very responsive to disasters, both in the region and afar, and we hope to emulate that spirit and play our part in a worthy cause. We will continue to help affected families and hope this Can bring them some joy and optimism during these difficult times,” Abdullah added.
