Balochistan [Pakistan]March 11 (ANI): A Levies Force sepoy was killed and another injured after the banned group Taliban Movement Pakistan (TTP) attacked the Dahli checkpoint in Balochistan, Dawn newspaper reported.

The attack took place on Tuesday night and a TTP terrorist was killed in a firefight with members of Levies Force.

The banned group claimed responsibility for the attack and confirmed that one of its members was killed in a shootout with Levies Force members, Dawn reported.

This is the first time TTP has claimed such an attack in the Washuk district of Balochistan.

Earlier, a police officer guarding the census team was killed in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, Dawn newspaper reported.

Meanwhile, four other police officers were injured when terrorists attacked their vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan.

Unidentified gunmen targeted police vehicles in the Garah Mastan area within the Daraban police station. The attacker fled the scene after the shooting, Dawn reported.

The injured were transferred to Mufti Mahmoud Hospital for treatment.

The outlawed Pakistani Taliban movement (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack, Dawn reported.

The incidents come amid a spike in terrorist activities across the country, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the TTP ended its ceasefire with the government in November.
