The UAE has relaxed certain travel regulations to facilitate the return of residents stranded abroad.

Starting from September 12th, holders of valid residence visas who have been fully vaccinated with the vaccine approved by the WHO but have stayed in a country on the suspension list for more than six months can return to the UAE with a new entry permit and make corrections after entry Their status.

These relaxations will apply to non-Dubai visa holders, because Dubai has relaxed the regulations on the arrival of its residents, and if they return from countries such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal, they do not need to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate. Dubai authorities Previously, the residence visas of foreigners staying abroad were extended if their visas expire after April 20, 2021.

According to the revised rules announced by the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA), the UAE will now allow all residents who have received WHO-approved vaccines to enter. Previously restricted countries.

The two authorities stated in a joint statement that the decision covers passengers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Nigeria and Afghanistan. .

The latest change opens up travel for residence visa holders from the listed countries who have not been vaccinated in the UAE.

How to apply for a new license

Arriving passengers must apply through the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) website and complete the vaccination application to obtain the necessary approvals. In addition, they must present an approved vaccination certificate when departing for the UAE.

Negative PCR test results completed in an approved laboratory with a QR code within 48 hours before departure must also be presented before departure.

They must also perform a rapid PCR test before boarding the plane and another PCR test on the fourth and eighth day of arrival, while complying with all precautions in place.

Children under 16 are exempt from these procedures.

People who have been fully vaccinated with any vaccine approved by the WHO and have stayed in a country on the suspension list for more than six months since each country issued the suspension decision can enter the country with a new entry permit and correct their status after entering .

All other preventive measures previously announced against unvaccinated people from these countries are still in effect.
