ABU DHABI, 14th March, 2023 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Export Office, ADEX, the export finance arm of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD, participated in the TXF MENA conference for the second consecutive year, affirming its commitment to explore all feasible ways to strengthen and expand the UAE’s export capabilities.
Held in Dubai on March 14-15, the event brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss the current economic situation and showcase innovative trade and export finance solutions that can help cope with the Some key challenges.
Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Development Fund and Chairman of the Export Executive Committee of Abu Dhabi Export Office, said ADEX’s participation in TXF MENA demonstrates the key role the organization plays in developing the UAE’s export sector. “At COP28, our commitment to sustainable development is more important than ever, and ADEX is committed to advancing this mission by promoting the export of sustainable goods and services and promoting a green economy,” he added.
Khalil Al Mansoori, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Export Office, delivered the opening address, underscoring the importance of the event to the region’s economy, especially for countries like the UAE that have identified the export sector as a key driver of economic development.
He emphasized that ADEX’s efforts are aligned with the UAE’s strategy to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth, adding that the institution’s participation in TXF MENA is crucial to its commitment to support the country’s economic agenda.
“As the main export finance institution working with the support of ADFD, one of our top priorities is to strengthen the UAE’s position as a regional and international hub for global trade and to increase the contribution of domestic companies to the country’s exports, especially those in advanced industries, business in important areas such as food and energy security,” he said.
As the UAE prepares to host a global climate conference, ADEX has increased its focus on enabling local exporters to access the necessary funding to boost their efforts to develop and export renewable energy solutions to other countries, promoting clean energy globally. “We believe that export finance can significantly contribute to the diversification of the country’s economy and contribute to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals,” he added.
The event includes insightful panel discussions, country-focused workshops, product user forums, and roundtables for export and project finance leaders.
