NCEMA to host Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2023 on May 9-10

Abu Dhabi: The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Authority (NCEMA) has announced that it will host the Crisis and Emergency Management Summit (CEMS) 2023 under the patronage of National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The summit, to be held in Abu Dhabi on May 9-10, will discuss emergency, crisis and disaster management mechanisms to improve the preparedness of emergency and crisis systems, unify the sector’s global efforts, and will also highlight the sector’s The future in a time of increasing global threats and risks, as well as current major issues.

Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Authority (NCEMA), said: “We are pleased to announce the theme of this year’s CEMS: ‘Abu Dhabi 2023’. This year, we will discuss the UAE’s role in strengthening emergencies, crises and disasters. He emphasized that the community plays a vital role in managing emergencies and crises through pre-emptive preparedness and volunteering, where the UAE community has contributed greatly to overcoming challenges in various previous crises.

The upcoming summit is a global platform with substantial international participation, recognizing the importance of the ongoing development of the emergency, crisis and disaster management landscape. The gathering is significant due to current technological innovations, including advances in artificial intelligence systems, solutions and digital platforms.

The summit aims to strengthen partnerships, encourage international cooperation and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise related to emergencies, crises and disasters.
