Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: After four months of running, the Al Wathba Custom Show concluded yesterday (17 March 2023) on Sheikh Zayed Day, during which car enthusiasts passed a heart-pounding Accelerated flair and suspenseful performances are entertaining. The 20 participating classic and 4WD vehicles put on an action-packed show that thrilled the audience with daring stunt and drift routines.
With a total prize pool of approximately AED 1.8 million, one of the largest of its kind in the UAE, prizes are divided into three categories: the Custom Cars category, which has two subcategories: Custom Cars Built Before 1979 and From 1980 Manufactured custom cars. Participants in this category have their vehicles fully modified, including the car’s paint, engine, tire size, suspension system and audio system.
As for the Engine Wars category, it includes modifying engines, increasing their power and horsepower. The vehicle was tested on the “Dyno Device”, a device used to measure the car’s strength and power and analyze the O2 emissions, as shown in the car’s engine weakness and strength map.
The refurbishment category includes updating a car and restoring it to a near-new car level as if it were in its year of manufacture, which means building and reassembling the car electronically from A to Z again during the run of the Al Wathba Custom Show.
In addition to the transformation of classic cars and four-wheel drive vehicles, as well as the renewal and supply of engines, car owners also brought many wonderful performances, and also held various car engine customization workshops in the exclusive space specially customized for 5 models. Owners were able to modify their cars on the spot in front of visitors.
Salem Matar Salem Al Shamsi took first place in the category of custom cars built before 1979 for AED 200,000, followed by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Hammadi for AED 130,000 and Ashraf Abdul Hamid Saleem finished third and won AED 60,000.
In the category of custom cars built in 1980 and above, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Fadel took first place, Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Hammadi took second place and Saif Mubarak Al Qamzi took third place for AED 200,000, followed by They are followed by AED 130,000 and AED 60,000 respectively.
In the renovation category, Hamid Muhammad Al-Mosaabi took first place, Muhammad Yasser took second place and Soaud Nasser Al-Hatali took third place for AED130,000, AED90,000 and AED50,000 respectively.
In the Battle of Engines TB48 category, Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi took first place, Saeed Obaid Al Dhaheri took second place and Saeed Ibrahim Al Meamari took third place for total prize money of AED120,000, AED80,000 and AED50,000 Dirham.
In the Engine Battle – Full Boosted category, Khaled Adnan Al Hammadi took first place with AED 120,000, Omar Ibrahim Al Suwaidi in second with AED 80,000 and Arslan Shakeel Khan in third AED 50,000 for the bonus.
Finally, Mohammed Rashid Al Jabri won 1st place, Hamdan Rashid Al Jabri 2nd and Mohammed Rashid Al Jabri 3rd in the Battle of Engines – Universal category, with prize money of AED 70,000 and AED 50,000 respectively and 30,000 dirhams.
