UAE flights: Bangladeshi foreigners are still stranded because there is no Covid testing facility at the airport-News

The travel agency stated that UAE residents stranded in Bangladesh are in trouble because their country’s airports do not have facilities for rapid PCR testing.

“Because there are no rapid PCR testing facilities in Bangladesh airports, residents cannot meet the travel requirements to the UAE,” said Syed Mudassir, sales manager of Al Bloushi travels.

Many Bangladeshi nationals who have returned to the UAE have gone to a third country to spend the isolation period.

Galadari International Travel Services Exhibition and Holiday Manager Mir Wasim Raja said Sri Lanka has always been the “most viable” quarantine destination for Bangladeshis due to the country’s geographic location.

Mudassir said that some stranded foreigners also choose Southern European countries and Central Asian countries. “Montenegro, Albania and Serbia have become part of the choice.”

Syed Ashraful is a Bangladeshi foreigner who runs a grocery store in Abu Khar and has been waiting for his workers to return for the past six months.

“Two of them have been on vacation since March and have not returned until now due to travel restrictions. I heard that Bangladesh’s airports do not have the necessary PCR test equipment.”

“There are thousands of people who are willing to return to the Gulf countries but are unable to return,” he added.
