A dairy farming project will soon be launched in Sharjah. The facility is approximately 9 kilometers from the large wheat farm in the Mleiha region and will initially house 1,000 cows.

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the project on Monday when he witnessed the first harvest from a wheat farm.

During the breeding ceremony, he said the number of cows at the facility would be doubled in the second phase. “So, we’re working on another project consisting of a dairy and dairy.”

Locally produced cheese is needed for bread made from wheat grown in Sharjah, he said. “God forbid, we promise that will happen,” he said.
