SeaWorld Abu Dhabi has confirmed its official opening date. The marine life theme park will open on May 23 this year.
Featuring eight themed areas, the attraction offers up-close animal encounters, rides, entertainment, and dining and shopping experiences.
Sea World Abu Dhabi is a collaboration between Miral and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, featuring eight zones that can be explored across five interior floors, covering approximately 183,000 square meters. Endless Ocean Domain will be home to the largest and most expansive multi-species aquarium in the world. The aquarium will hold more than 25 million liters of water and will be a dynamic habitat for more than 68,000 species of marine animals, including sharks, schools of fish, manta rays and turtles.
The sea life theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi will feature more than 100,000 sea animals, including 150 species of birds, fish, mammals and reptiles. The animal habitats in each domain are custom designed “using state-of-the-art technology and the highest standards of animal welfare”.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s marine life habitats are designed according to standards set by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Humane Society of the United States, using state-of-the-art design and technology to allow animals to live with other fish, birds and Lively habitats and animals in nature.

Other spaces have been designed to provide flexibility for animal welfare, allowing SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s animal care team to reproduce social seasonal patterns for animals such as walruses. Unique systems such as the Advanced Animal Lighting System (AALS) reproduce night/day and seasonal light cycles, while also delivering the health benefits of full-spectrum light. Animal Life Support Systems (ALSS) manage water quality to support a variety of fish and mammals that live together in dynamic environments.

SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment Chairman Scott Ross highlights how the park is preparing for the opening.
