The first international show to be sanctioned in Ukraine since the start of the war has gone into production.
Anthology series supported by Red Arrow Studios International those who stayed, which Deadlines first announced in August, which began filming the first block of three of its six episodes last week. The second block will begin next month, with deliveries planned for the fall.

The comedy-drama anthology from Film.UA and Red Arrow Studios International tells the early days of Russia’s attack on its neighbor more than a year ago. Three production teams worked side by side in Kiev, adhering to strict safety protocols and dealing with the daily challenges of filming in war.
The three episodes currently being filmed are titled Kiev-Berlin, homeless and in the zooThe first episode tells the story of a homeless man who joins the Territorial Guard and ends up gaining popularity and purpose in life. The second focuses on a cleaner at a private zoo who saves animals from a Russian invasion, while the third introduces Klaus from Germany, who is here to get a girl he met in Berlin to safety, But finally decided to stay and help, find his own sense in life.
Showrunner Anastasiia Lodkina said: “We want to share the light of our people in the darkest hour.”
She added: “We want to share the stories of Ukrainians who stayed in Kiev during the most uncertain and dangerous period in the first months of the war.”
“When everyone leaves, everyone stays – because something keeps them: duty, love, responsibility, principle. In these dark times, we want to show the world the light of Ukrainian talent: actors, director, cameraman and artist.”
Anna Eliseeva and Kateryna Vyshnevska, who co-created the series with Lodkina, are producers.
