Marriott Hotels has appointed Arlette Richter-Picardo as Hotel Manager at the Marriott Palm Jumeirah Resort in Dubai, underscoring the group’s commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
Richter-Picardo has a distinguished career and more than 20 years of hospitality and sales experience and will oversee all operational, quality and guest-related aspects of resort operations, including room operations, food and beverage management, and spa and entertainment oversight.
“We are delighted to welcome Arlette as our new hotel manager. She is a well-rounded hospitality professional with extensive experience in hotel operations and a strong background in commercial functions, particularly food and beverage sales as well as event planning and execution,” said Palm Jumeirah Gerrit Schmitt, general manager of Marriott Island Resort.

Richter-Picardo, who is German, was the general manager of the Dubai EDITION before moving to the resort. In 2012, she moved to Abu Dhabi to become Director of Events Sales at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi and quickly rose through the ranks to Assistant Director of Sales. In between these roles, Richter-Picardo held several key senior positions, including Director of Sales and Marketing and Hotel Manager for the Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Downtown Abu Dhabi, overseeing the sales and success of both hotels operate.
Prior to joining Marriott, Richter-Picardo held various executive roles in London and Australia overseeing event and banquet operations. At Marriott, where she managed room and food and beverage revenue and served as a key department head, she attributes her success to being a hands-on, forward-thinking leader. – trade arab news agency
