to see iftar cannon

Every year during Ramadan, cannons are fired at sunset every day to announce the beginning of Maghreb prayers and breaking the fast—— Iftar. It’s a tradition dating back to the 1960’s that you and your family should visit at least once. In Abu Dhabi, there are numerous cannons in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the Mushrif area, the Qasr Al-Hosn and Umm Al-Emarat parks, and the Formula car park in Shahama City. The cannon uses empty cartridges, so it’s safe if you want to go check it out, although you may want to plug your ears.
