Amazon has announced the launch of Iftar on Wheels, a meal donation program that will support thousands of families in the UAE during Ramadan. With the company’s delivery network in the UAE, Amazon will use its scale, logistics and technology to help those in need and spread the joy of the season in the local community.
Partnering with the UAE Food Bank, the initiative continues Amazon’s tradition of helping needy families through a combination of monetary donations, delivery services and volunteer support.
Manal Obaid Yaroof, Chairman of the UAE Food Bank Steering Committee, said: “Amazon’s Iftar on Wheels is a great way to provide food directly to thousands of families in need. Leveraging Amazon’s technology, people and With the company’s vast network of delivery capabilities, this program will help us reach more families across the country.”
Hundreds of Amazon employees across the UAE will be involved in organizing the event, packing and delivering food, and sharing the iftar.
Prashant Saran, Director of Operations at Amazon Middle East and North Africa, said: “This year, we are launching Iftar on Wheels, a program that leverages our network of logistics, delivery and people to deliver thousands of meals to families in need across the UAE. Amazon continues to work with community partners in the MENA region to find practical solutions to urgent needs such as hunger and natural disasters, leveraging our scale as a force for good.”
Over the past four years, Amazon has provided millions of meals to underserved communities in the Middle East and North Africa, moving towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 to achieve “Zero Hunger.”

Right Now Needs, Amazon’s global community engagement pillar, aims to end impossible choices created by poverty, homelessness, hunger, and natural disasters. Eid on Wheels is part of the initiative, with Amazon developing plans to harness employee innovation, determination and enthusiasm to strengthen the communities where its employees live and work.
Since its launch in the UAE, Amazon has been investing in strengthening its presence and launching various service offerings to enhance the order fulfillment experience for customers in the UAE. Today, Amazon’s operating network in the UAE includes three fulfillment centers, three sorting centers, eight delivery stations, and a network of small and medium-sized enterprises that serve as delivery services and artists.
