Windstar Cruises adds Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as exclusive tour

Windstar Cruises will bring guests a brand new tour of Formula 1 with the final race of the 2023 season taking place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November. This latest excursion is in addition to the cruise line’s long-running F1 package ‘Monaco Rome and the World Grand Prix’, with the Monaco Grand Prix scheduled to take place on its flagship from May 21-28, storm.

“I’m a big fan of F1 racing, and as the sport experiences its highest ratings ever in the US, more and more of our Windstar customers are also racing fans,” said Windstar President Christopher Prelog . “When we were planning our maiden voyage to the Middle East starting in November, I had hoped that the 2023 race dates would overlap. Luckily: our first Middle East voyage coincided with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was an exciting time for Windstar The green flag for sailing in the new region and the checkered flag for the 2023 season… a perfect fit.”

Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023 is Windstar’s exclusive shore excursion and will be part of the cruise line’s first voyage in the region interstellar saga.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix package includes:

  • Premium grandstand seating for time trials and races
  • Transfers to and from Yas Marina Circuit
  • English-speaking coordinator
  • exclusive cocktail party
  • Insight and expert analysis on the race and drivers from F1 sports broadcaster Bob Varsha

Guests can book a 10-day tour of the glittering sands and cities of the Persian Gulf, departing Dubai on 23 November, with an overnight stay in Abu Dhabi, with the option to watch the season finale on 25-26 November games. Tour prices start at $1599, while cruises start at $2999 per person.

Windstar’s Monaco Grand Prix package began in the 1990s as the line’s first themed cruise and one of the first in the industry. Guests of Windstar’s Rome and Monaco World Grand Prix itineraries receive exclusive Group K seat tickets for the time trial and final. The package also includes a Formula 1 expert who provides behind-the-scenes commentary for the entire cruise, themed cocktails and dinners, and extras like “high-definition binoculars, comfortable seat cushions and earmuffs.” Cruise fares, including all Grand Prix programming, start at $7699 per person.
