During the incident, some victims fell into a nearby drain, while a wall collapsed, causing casualties in the stampede, according to the Associated Press. Video of the incident shared on Twitter showed a pile of flip flops near a flooded path at the crash site while emergency teams assessed the situation. In one of the clips, an ambulance and locals can be seen at the scene of the accident.

Following today’s incident, the death toll from a stampede at free food centers across the country has risen to at least 21 since last week. The factory owner who organized the food distribution center did not notify police of the plan, a police official said.
A local resident who lives near the factory told The Associated Press that people had been gathering since morning to receive free food. He didn’t know what exactly caused the incident, but “we heard the cries and found out later Stampede.”
The deadly incident came a day after authorities ordered more police to be deployed at Ramadan food distribution centers to avoid dangerous overcrowding.
