For long-time residents of Abu Dhabi, the Armed Forces Officers Club Hotel is legendary, both an important landmark and one of the oldest surviving family-friendly destinations in the capital. A new chapter opens in 2021, with the club being refurbished and renamed. While its values ​​and spirit as a beloved family attraction remain, there’s so much more to see and do now. Minimalism in hotel rooms and suites

Erth Abu Dhabi’s elegant and understated accommodation features 237 rooms, 42 suites and 13 villas, each featuring locally sourced natural materials and soothing sand tones. The one-bedroom villas are fantastic, with spacious layouts and private beach access right out the door. Prices start at Dhs1,151 for a deluxe king room and Dhs4,632 per night for a one-bedroom villa.

AL RIMAL restaurant leans towards Emirati food

Al Rimal (meaning beach) stays true to its Emirati heritage, offering a curated menu inspired by Emirati cuisine. Its unique buffet area and live show kitchen offer a wide range of delicacies including Arabic breads, appetizers and traditional desserts. Elsewhere in Erth, you’ll find Ramsa serving authentic street food from around the world, a Neapolitan pizzeria called Beetza, and Asrah, a poolside restaurant at the new beach club. Theater stage plays, pentos and musical performances

We’ve been fans of them since the Erth Theater hosted a fantastic Motown Night in May 2022. Great fitness facility

The extraordinary Etizan fitness center includes a 3,500 sqm gym with mixed and women’s areas, equipped with next-generation Technogym equipment. You’ll also find an eight-lane indoor Olympic-size swimming pool, and a range of man-made and natural outdoor courts ranging from five-a-side to FIFA-certified 11-a-side. (Official services are also available, as well as boot and ball rentals). There are dedicated spaces here for everything from gymnastics to squash, paddle tennis, regular tennis, spinning, bowling, athletics, volleyball, basketball and jiu jitsu. New AL Waryah pool and beach set to be this year’s summer hotspot

Al Waryah Pool and Beach rivals the capital’s other family-friendly beach clubs, boasting a stunning 350m of pristine private beach with luxury cabanas and everything from kayaks and stand-up paddle boards to jet skis Aircraft a range of water sports skiing. Al Waryah Pool & Beach also offers rejuvenating yoga sessions on the beach, therapeutic massages in beach cabanas and a range of wholesome food and drink options from Asrah. Away from the beach, you’ll find a range of swimming pools, including one specially designed for children. Daytime guests are welcome from 10am to 6pm daily, with passes starting at AED 199 (inclusive of AED 100 food and beverage credit). Timeline: From Armed Officers Club to ERTH ABU DHABI

1983

The late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the United Arab Emirates, envisioned the creation of a dedicated leisure space for officers of the UAE Armed Forces.

1997

The Armed Forces Officers’ Club was inaugurated on 1 December 1997 by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is intended for use only by members of the UAE Armed Forces and their families.

Year 2003

With the opening of the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel, the Officers Club opened its doors to the public.

2021

Armed Forces Officers Club is renamed Erth Abu Dhabi and includes a flagship resort, refurbished restaurants and state-of-the-art entertainment facilities.

2023

Erth Abu Dhabi presents Al Waryah Pool & Beach, inviting guests to enjoy 350 meters of pristine private beach and its two new swimming pools.
