The emergency response time for Expo 2020 will pass 20 checkpoints in 4 minutes
As the 2020 Dubai Expo prepares to welcome millions of people, the authorities are taking all measures to ensure the safety of tourists-which means responding quickly in the event of a crisis.
According to the Dubai Civil Defense Administration and Dubai Ambulance Service, the emergency response time for the Expo will pass 20 checkpoints within 4 minutes.
Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council for Crisis and Disaster Management, reviewed all security preparations prior to the large-scale event. This includes visits to the Expo 2020 Metro Station and the Covid-19 testing tents of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
This visit is in line with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
As part of the visit, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Almari, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police and head of the Security Committee for Expo 2020 Dubai, revealed that the Dubai Police has adopted the latest smart technology to protect the venue.
Sheikh Mansour said that the safety of exhibitors and visitors is the top priority of all relevant authorities, and they have made many arrangements to ensure a safe environment.
He also emphasized Dubai’s reputation for organizing large-scale events, which have safely welcomed thousands of participants and tourists even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.
After arriving at the Expo site by subway, Sheikh Mansoor visited the main operating room and evaluated the safety and security measures formulated by different government teams for the venue.
At RTA’s transportation command and control center, Al Tayer briefed Sheikh Mansoor on the center, which was set up to ensure smooth and safe entry and formation of the site.
Sheikh Mansoor also reviewed the operational details of Dubai Metro’s 2020 route, which will serve up to 500,000 passengers every day.
In the DHA testing tent, Sheikh Mansoor learned about the preparations made by the health authorities for the event, including private hospitals, an emergency medical center, three major medical centers, and some PCR testing centers.
DHA’s preparations for this event include the establishment of the 2020 Dubai Expo First Aid Center, which provides comprehensive medical care services for Expo 2020 visitors, including PCR testing.
DHA has also set up 5 lanes for drive-through testing of 5,000 tests per day and a PCR screening center, which can conduct 10,000 tests per day, and test results can be provided within 4 hours.
