Jaeger-LeCoultre has enriched this year’s theme of the golden ratio through its ongoing collaboration with Parisian artist and pastry chef Nina Métayer under its Maker program.
Extending the long-standing dialogue between horology, craft and art, Made of Makers is a program that collaborates with artists and artisans from various disciplines beyond watchmaking.
It focuses on passionate and experienced creators who share Jaeger-LeCoultre’s values of creativity, expertise, precision and timeless excellence, and whose work explores new forms of expression through diverse and often unexpected materials and media .

To date, the Made of Makers community has integrated itself into the worlds of contemporary art and food—its alumni include artists Zimoun, Michael Murphy and Guillaume Marmin, lettering artist Alex Trochut, pastry chef Métayer and bartender Matthias Giroud.
The collaboration between Jaeger-LeCoultre and Métayer began in 2021 with the inauguration of the 1931 Café, for which the famous pastry chef created a special pastry menu inspired by Art Deco.
Métayer, who was named Pastry Chef of the Year three times before she turned 30, is known for the visual appeal of her pastries and her unique talent for incorporating evocative flavors in new and often unexpected ways.

For her new pastries, which will be served to Jaeger-LeCoultre guests at Watches and Wonders 2023 and at 1931 Cafés around the world in the coming year, Métayer interprets the harmony of the golden ratio in a fresh and contemporary way through proportions, shapes , symmetry and color – a tribute to the “sacred proportions” that defined the design of the first Reverso watch born in 1931.
With their striking shapes and evocative names, the Spirale de Noisette, Ellipse de Sapin, Étoile de Cassis and Carré au Miel de Forêt each incorporate raw materials from the Jour Valley. Flavors and aromas of hazelnut, honey, pine, chestnut and blackcurrant subtly evoke the natural harmony and beauty of Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Swiss Jura Mountains.
