What began in 1993 as a licensing relationship between King Koil and licensee Dubai Furniture Manufacturing in the United Arab Emirates has developed into a successful collaboration which was recently celebrated by both companies at their 30th anniversary celebrations in Dubai.
The event was attended by King Koil executives from around the world, including Chairman Jin Hoe Yeoh and CEO David Binke. During the official programme, DFMC Managing Director Sundar Rajan shared the company’s start-up story and success under King Koil, according to a press release.
“DFMC’s stewardship of the King Koil brand for over 30 years has been incredible,” Binke said. “Consumers in the Middle East appreciate the luxury and quality of our products, all thanks to the excellent work of Sundar and his team. We wish them another 30 years of continued growth and prosperity.”
DFMC is the first licensee in the Middle East to have a King Koil branded showroom to market to distributors in the region. The company eventually opened 15 King Koil showrooms and is now expanding further into retail.
“As we look back on our 30-year journey, we are reminded of the obstacles we have overcome, the challenges we have faced and the accomplishments we have celebrated,” Rajan said. “Today, we celebrate the contributions of our talented and dedicated employees to the progress and success of our company, the dealership and hotel customers who trust us, the owners who support us, the Kim Kors who support us, and the markets in which we operate. – the Middle East market – it embraced us and gave us a platform to grow.”
Dongfeng Nissan operates three plants in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The company also runs a contract business, supplying mattresses to major Middle Eastern hotel brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Taj Mahal, Emirates Towers and Emirates Palace.
