Trump was due to surrender at the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Tuesday and could be fingerprinted before appearing in court because of New York’s security precautions and the mayor’s order for potential “agitators” to behave.

Trump, a 76-year-old Republican trying to regain the presidency in 2024, is the first former U.S. president to face criminal charges.

Yahoo News said late Monday that Trump would face 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. None of the charges against Trump were misdemeanors, Yahoo said, citing a single source with knowledge of Tuesday’s arraignment proceedings.

Trump’s plane — painted red, white and blue, with “TRUMP” in capital letters on the side and an image of the American flag on the tail — arrived in Lagua, Queens, 3-1/2 hours after taking off from West Palm Beach Dia Airport is near his home in Florida.

Wearing a blue suit and red tie, Trump walked down a flight of stairs from the plane alone, then climbed into an SUV and drove in a convoy to Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he waved to people without speaking. Just walked in and made a public comment.

Trump has hired prominent white-collar criminal defense attorney and former U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche to join his defense team to bolster his legal team, two people familiar with the matter said.

Branch and other Trump lawyers on Monday urged the judge to disallow video, photography and broadcast coverage of the arraignment.

In a letter to the court, they objected to allowing such reporting, saying it would “exacerbate the already almost circus-like atmosphere of the case” and “undermine the dignity and decorum of the proceedings and courtroom.”

Judge Juan Merchan is expected to rule on the matter on Monday.

The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said it would be at the discretion of the judge, but noted that Melchine allowed the filming ahead of the criminal trial in which Trump’s real estate firm was found guilty of tax fraud last year. A limited number of still photos.

The Manhattan grand jury indicting Trump has been hearing evidence for months this year that Trump paid adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in the closing days of the 2016 presidential campaign Dollar.

Daniels has said she was paid to keep quiet about the 2006 sexual encounter with Trump at a Lake Tahoe hotel. Trump has denied any such relationship with her.
