Manarat’s enduring Ramadan Accade Al Saadiyat came back for two weekends during the holy month. Zayed Sports City offers a whole host of indoor sports and entertainment, but one of our favorite activities highlights is the ice rink – a great way to cool off and only 55 dirhams – even if you’re like us Taking classes you’re still a bit of a Bambi on stilts. You can also catch a strike at Cosmic Bowling (every Wednesday at 7pm) at the 40-lane Khalifa International Bowling Centre. Because in space, no one can hear you.

Spring break is over for many students this weekend, so why not team up for a day of fun for the whole family? Galleria Al Maryah Island is currently deep into the Ramadan Ramadan retail festival, which means, among other things, great sale shopping for mums and dads. This inspiring structure, one of the largest mosques in the world, was commissioned by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and completed in just over a decade. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque can accommodate 40,000 worshipers per day and draws design features from Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan and Egypt, among other Islamic countries. There are 1,096 columns inlaid with amethyst and jasper, 82 white marble domes – one of which has an interior decorated with exquisite gold-lead calligraphy of Quranic texts, reflecting pools, Swarovski chandeliers, the world’s largest hand-woven carpet , a breathtaking prayer hall, and a courtyard with one of the largest marble mosaics in the world.
