It greatly helps to reduce the number of hospitalizations and deaths.
According to reports, Covid patients in the UAE recovered quickly after using the world’s latest antiviral drug, Sotrovimab.
Abu Dhabi Health Services (Seha) stated that its facilities “effectively support the treatment of patients”.
Saeed Al Ameri, a 36-year-old Emirati, said he started experiencing high fevers, headaches and body aches while in isolation at home. He was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) and Sotrovimab was prescribed.
Saiha reported that Said was discharged from hospital within four days. However, soon after, his wife and mother began to show severe symptoms. They also received similar treatment and were discharged four days later.
Al Ameri expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the UAE for their “extraordinary response” to the pandemic.
Another patient, Allawi Saleh Ali Al Mansouri, said that after SKMC used Sotrovimab, his health has improved.
May Siddiq Mansour said: “I recovered and returned to my normal life almost immediately after receiving Sotrovimab.”
Sotrovimab is 100% effective in preventing Covid deaths
Sotrovimab has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) for the treatment of Covid-19 under emergency use authorization.
It helps reduce the number of cases requiring hospitalization for more than 24 hours and reduces the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 by as much as 85% as an early treatment method.
The patient guarantees the effectiveness of the new treatment
Dr. Anwar Salam, Chief Medical Officer of Seha, said: “Thanks to the leadership of the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health, we quickly adopted Sotrovimab’s emergency use and proved to be successful. Many Covid patients (rehabilitation)…very short time.”
