Britney Spears has the support of her former documentary director, Fenton Bailey, as fans believe she is struggling with her life.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Radio on Friday, Fenton recounted his experience with Spears while directing the 2013 documentary “I Am Britney Jane.”
“She’s really not that kind of … we think, you know, because ‘Oops! … I did it again’ or ‘[I’m a] Slave 4 U, ‘We thought she was just, like, this feisty whore,'” he told host Andy Cohen.
“She’s not that kind of person,” he explained. “On stage she is, but in real life, she’s shy and very withdrawn. As she keeps saying, ‘I’m just a normal, boring person.'”
Fenton further added, “When we made that documentary, I don’t think she was bound against her will, I don’t understand that.”
“I was under the impression that her manager, Larry Rudolph, and Adam Leber and her father were also on her side, and the job was really good for her.”
Spears was released from her custody in late 2021. She is married to her longtime sweetheart, Sam Asghari.
The crime singer returned to the music world with her biggest hit, Hold Me Closer, her comeback collaboration with Elton John.
