A 50-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter were killed after Russian troops stormed a residential building in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporozhye early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Ukraine’s state emergency services also reported that a 46-year-old woman, said to be the wife and mother of the victim, had been rescued from the wreckage.

Anatoliy Kurtev, secretary of the city council, said two missiles destroyed a building and damaged dozens of others in the overnight attack.
“Damn Russian terrorists attacked Zaporozhye again and caused casualties,” he wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
The attack was the latest in a string of recent attacks against civilian targets in the region as Moscow’s full-scale invasion entered its second year.
