Apple launched a series of new flagship products on Tuesday, including the iPhone 13, Series 7 smartwatch and an updated version of the iPad Mini, with 5G connectivity, faster chips and clearer cameras.

In a virtual event, the Cupertino, California-based company said that the iPhone 13 will be equipped with a new chip called A15 Bionic, which will support functions such as automatically detecting when the phone’s camera is pointing at text.

The iPhone 13 Pro starts at US$999 (Dh3,669), Pro Max starts at US$1,099 (Dh4,036), and trade-in offers can reach up to US$1,000 (Dh3,673). All three models will be available on September 24.

“IPhone 13 will be equipped with customized 5G antennas and radio components to achieve faster speeds, and will be available in five colors. iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available in pink, blue, midnight, starlight and red from September 17. Pre-orders will begin today,” Apple said.

The new iPad will begin to be ordered on apple.com and in stores on September 24 (Friday).

“The iPad has never been more important for work, study, and communication, and we are happy to bring one of the biggest updates ever to our most popular iPad,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of global marketing.

“With the powerful A13 bionic, Center Stage for more attractive video calls, and double the storage space, the new iPad offers advanced features, versatility and simplicity at an incredible value,” he added.
