Water company Al Ain Water has warned its customers of fake accounts and deceptive promotions. Residents are advised to follow only the official account to take advantage of the latest offers and promotions. These include Al Ain Water’s website, customer service number 80025246 and official social media accounts.

Residents are advised to notify the relevant authorities as soon as possible if they come across any accounts with suspicious activity, or accounts falsely claiming to be associated with Al Ain Water.

It is not uncommon for false information claiming to be from a company to attempt to deceive residents – earlier this year, UAE authorities warned residents to beware of false information claiming to be from a major courier company.

The Emirates Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) posted a message on social media alerting residents to a scam that has users click on a link to pay for shipping.

Authorities urged residents not to click or interact with any such links, warning them to only connect to official websites for any services to avoid falling for online traps.
