4-day Eid al-Fitr holiday in UAE: List of countries where citizens can travel visa-free – News

Air travel is set to surge over the four-day weekend of Eid al-Fitr, as large numbers of UAE nationals and expatriates fly abroad for short breaks.

There are many popular and tourist-friendly destinations in the world that offer visa-free or visa-on-arrival facilities to UAE citizens thanks to its passport, one of the most powerful in the world, which does not require a prior visa to enter 178 countries.

People in the UAE typically celebrate Eid al-Fitr over a four-day weekend from Thursday, April 20 to Sunday, April 23, depending on lunar observations in the UAE.

According to Henley & Partners, UAE nationals can enter 141 countries visa-free and obtain a visa on arrival or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) in 44 countries.

UAE citizens can enter 16 countries in Oceania, 13 countries in the Middle East, 50 countries in Europe, 17 countries in the Caribbean, 12 countries in Asia, 20 countries in the Americas and 38 countries in Africa.

Over the past 10 years, the UAE has climbed an astounding 49 places. The UAE, which ranked 64th in 2013 with a visa-free score of just 72, is now 15th with a score of 178 and accounts for nearly 70% of global GDP.

According to Henley & Partners, UAE passport holders must obtain visas before traveling to 48 countries, including the US, Australia and Turkey.
