Abu Dhabi to increase public transport options to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi will increase public transport options to and from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for worshipers to attend evening prayers.

The number of worshipers going to mosques increases significantly in the last third of Ramadan, as night is considered a special time for prayer and devotion.

Tit will therefore operate two dedicated public bus services to the mosque, public transport regulator, the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) of the municipality and transport ministry, said in a statement.

The 175 service runs hourly and runs from the Al Zinah area of Al Raha to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and on to the Corniche in Abu Dhabi. On the other hand, Line 94 runs every 20 minutes between Wahat AlKarama, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Mamsha Al Saadiyat.

A total of 100 taxis will also be stationed in the mosque every day, and the number of vehicles has continued to increase in the past 10 days. On-site inspectors and supervisors will be deployed in coordination with taxi operators to ensure smooth service. The transport department has also designated designated areas for passengers to pick up and drop off during Ramadan.

traffic management

ITC has also taken several measures to facilitate the management of traffic in the surrounding area, including monitoring the mosque’s main entrance and parking areas for worshipers and tourists. In addition, the operations team monitors and monitors traffic, and oversees areas of traffic accidents and traffic congestion. The team will operate from a control room, keeping an eye on equipment installed on road networks, intersections, bridges and tunnels.

Another team is also working with Abu Dhabi Police to provide logistical support for road service patrols and help organize traffic during taraweeh prayers and tahajjud prayers. The team will also operate digital mobile signage and giant electronic screens in the area around the mosque to guide motorists.

During Ramadan, the ITC deployed 32 inspectors and supervisors at the North and South Gates. During the last ten days of Ramadan, five people will join the parking management team to ensure optimal use of parking spaces and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
