ABU DHABI, 13th April, 2023 (WAM) — The Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood has expanded the scope of its previous humanitarian initiative launched in partnership with the UAE, “From the Children of the UAE to the Children of the World” Red Crescent Society (ERC ) Authority. Affected children Türkiye and Syria will receive the money raised this year.
Since its launch, the campaign has seen an increase in donations from multiple segments of society, including children, individuals, organizations and the private sector, reflecting the ideals of cohesion and human solidarity among UAE citizens and residents.
In addition to school supplies, Eid clothing and basic necessities, this year’s campaign aims to collect blankets, pillows, clothes and toys to support earthquake victims. It seeks to foster a culture of helpfulness among Emirati children so they can help their peers around the world.
Donation boxes have been deployed in malls such as the Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi and the Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain.
Al Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood, said the campaign is one of the initiatives the Council wishes to carry out in line with the vision of Her Excellency Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of Mothers and Mothers of Children”. Country”, the President of the General Women’s Union (GWU), the President of the Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood and the Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and her genuine concern for children.
The campaign is part of initiatives, events and activities related to the development of the country’s National Human Rights Action Plan under the supervision of the National Human Rights Commission. Children’s rights are one of the priority themes in the draft national plan.
