The summer schedule for the outdoor venue was announced on Thursday, and the coming months will fill Millennium Park with music, dancing, movies and more.
In addition to the previously published Chicago Gospel Festival, chicago blues festival and chicago jazz festivalEverything from ballet to Broadway will appear in a series of free shows.
Every Monday and Thursday (June 22-August 21) the Summer Music Series will feature a tribute to Ramsay Lewis (June 22); Eddie Palmieris Salsa Ensemble (June 26); Big Freedia (July 13); Yemi Allard (July 17); Stephen Marley, Skanking Lizard and Jump Up Records celebrate 30th anniversary with DJ Chuck Wren (July 20); Kurt Vile and Breach Shemekia Copeland (July 31); “Grammy Legacy” – Cedric Burnside and Vieux Farka Touré (August 10); PJ Morton (August 17); and Kara Morrison (21 August).

Uniting Voices Chicago presents “Paint the Town Red”

Uniting Voices Chicago (formerly the Chicago Children’s Choir) presents one of the biggest concerts of the year
“All Celebrate Joffrey” by the Joffrey Ballet
June 25 at 5:30 pm
Joffrey Ballet’s ‘Joffrey for All Celebration’, the first of its kind for the world-renowned company, will feature dance workshops on the lawn with company artists, Joffrey Dance Academy and students from the Joffrey Community Engagement Program Performance.
Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s “Chicago Concert”
June 27 at 6:30 pm
Maestro Riccardo Muti and the CSO performed Chicago native Florence Price’s “Andante” and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
Broadway Summer Concerts in Chicago
August 14 at 6:15 pm
Featuring some of Broadway’s biggest musical performances, including “Hamilton,” Chicago’s pre-Broadway premiere of “A Wonderful World,” the world premiere of “BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical,” “The Company,” Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch” How to Steal Christmas” and more.
Lyric Opera’s “Sunday in the Park”
August 20th at 7pm
Artists from the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center in Lyric performed a series of the most popular operas, accompanied by members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra conducted by Enrique Mazzola.
“Bidi Bidi Boom Boom: Selena Tribute Concert”
August 24 at 6pm
The National Art Museum of Mexico presents the return of this popular event, showcasing the music and legacy of Tejano and the legendary queen of cumbia. Artist lineup will be announced at a later date.
