Dubai: The Directorate General of Civil Defense of Dubai, represented by Emirates Security Laboratory (ESL), has signed an agreement with the global Underwriters Laboratories (UL Solutions) to provide security-related consulting and issue security-related certificates.
The agreement provides for the benefit of testing and inspection services provided by ESL.
Brigadier General Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Assistant Director-General for Fire and Rescue, emphasized the importance of having agreements with international organizations specializing in testing, inspection, certification and safety assessments to assist companies in ensuring the safety, security and sustainability of their products. This in turn enables the local and international construction industry to work within the requirements and standards that ensure safety and high quality, he added.
Brig Gen Al Mutawa said: “This agreement provides an exceptional experience [ESL] pass [UL Solutions), as its services assist numerous customers in the fields of manufacturing industry, construction projects, building management, and risk management to improve the quality and performance of their products and operations, working towards achieving safety and sustainability objectives and developing a strong relationships with pertinent consumers.”
He added: “[ESL] will provide [UL Solutions] A range of fire resistance testing, reaction to fire testing and flame spread testing services in compliance with international standards and codes. In addition, ESL technical experts will collaborate with UL solutions engineers to deliver their certification programs in world-class facilities serving the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. “
