Sharjah [United Arab Emirates]April 17 (ANI/WAM): Students at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) will have more opportunities to broaden their global perspective as the university will begin offering Korean language courses in the fall semester of 2023.

The announcement follows the signing of an agreement between AUS and the Korea Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Korea that supports and promotes the Korean language and culture around the world.

With the assistance of the Korea Foundation, the AUS College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) will begin offering two elementary Korean courses in fall 2023 and add two intermediate Korean courses by fall 2024.

Under the agreement, the Korea Foundation will conduct a South Korea-wide search to identify the most suitable candidates to serve as visiting faculty to teach these courses.

Australian students have shown an interest in Korean culture, established a Korean culture club and participated in this year’s Global Day.
