UAE President Receives Jordanian King

Abu Dhabi [UAE]18 April (/WAM): His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, today received His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan, who is Accompanied by Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, he visited Jordan, UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the King and Crown Prince of Jordan at the Al Batin Palace in Abu Dhabi, where they discussed the close historical ties between the UAE and Jordan and expressed their shared interest in further strengthening these ties.

The two sides reviewed existing areas of cooperation and collaboration that support the continued progress and prosperity of the two countries and their peoples.

They also exchanged greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, asking Allah to bestow health, happiness, stability and prosperity to the people of the UAE and Jordan.

Following the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed held an Iftar banquet in honor of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The meeting and iftar was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council His Excellency Al Nahyan; HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in the Al Dhafra Region; His Excellency Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in the Al Ain Region His Excellency Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; HH Sheikh Theyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan; HH Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Zayed of Determination the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Human Higher Organization (ZHO); and some chiefs, officials and citizens.

Also in attendance was a delegation accompanying His Majesty King Abdullah, which included Dr. Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan; Dr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nassar Habashneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the UAE; and Some Jordanian officials.

Earlier in the day, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Hussein and his accompanying delegation arrived at Abu Dhabi’s Batin Airport, where they were greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan also welcomed the King of Jordan. (/WAM)
