Under the leadership and supervision of the Emirate’s Arbitration for Cultural Affairs at the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT – Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Public Art is a colossal and integrated project to chart a brighter future for Abu Dhabi .

The initiative will unfold through three bold strokes, each focusing on a central aspect of the bigger picture.

Abu Dhabi Biennial of Public Art

Scheduled to open in November 2024, this element of the program will showcase new work commissioned across the city from a variety of artists working in a variety of mediums, enriching an already beautiful landscape. The look and feel of the region.

Artworks like the stunning WAVE by Korean collective d’strict – a 2D video wall that simulates a shoebox storm. Uncover the magic of this optical illusion, which is actually an effect created by something called “anamorphic illusion technology.” You’ll find fascinating installations at Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Foundation (Nature).

Commenting on the launch of the new initiative, His Excellency Mohammad Khalifa Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi said: “The emirate has a proud tradition of public art, which we are now enhancing with our ambitious Abu Dhabi Public Art Program.”

“These will foster creativity, placemaking and cultural infrastructure, and ensure that public art becomes an integral part of our emirate’s cultural identity, liveability and appeal to visitors.”
