Nostalgia is officially out of control.

It was recently revealed that two franchises, “twilight” and “Harry Potter” Just because you’re going to get a TV adaptation doesn’t mean you’ve gone back a decade.

This is still 2023.

Reboot culture in TV has been around for a while – ‘Magnum PI’, “True Lies,“Neverland,” “Hawaiian Fifty,” “Queer Eye,” and “Cobra Kai,” to name a few.

This month alone, upcoming small-screen adaptations of “Death Ringer” and “Fatal Attraction,” each featuring A-list stars (Rachel Weisz and Joshua Jackson, respectively).

but at least Those ones The story lay dormant for over 20 years (or more) before being resurrected.

But in turning to The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter of the early 2000s, Hollywood went too far with the question of “how can we miss you if you don’t go?” vein.

Let’s face it: Not enough time has passed for either team’s first round in the spotlight.

The last Potter movie came out in 2011, and the last Twilight movie came out a year later in 2012.

Even Gen Z was at that time.

Both franchises are still beloved by audiences, warts and all.

Laugh at The Twilight Saga all you want, but many fans see it as irrevocable camp, because half the fun of The Twilight Saga is that it’s not clear whether the movie is playing it straight away — or including infamous vampire baseball scene It was intentionally funny.

Plus, all the accessories from the movie – eg Robert Pattinson disgust His roles in it – are all “you have to be there” variations.

There’s no question ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Twilight’ are the zeitgeist then. But could they be the zeitgeist today?

Well, fans don’t think so.

“Oldest Twilight Saga movie ain’t old enough to drive, y’all want to fuck that legacy???” one angry fan tweets.

other express, “What Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have done to the Twilight Saga cannot be replicated, sorry!”

other audience ridicule“Reworked…Harry Potter and Twilight is a bit pathetic.”

He is right. Very poor.

Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga looked like novelties when they hit theaters.

But, since then, there have been countless “magic school” shows — “Wednesday,” “Legacy” — and countless vampire shows (“True Blood,” “What We Do in the Shadows”).

Regarding “Twilight,” the first few episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” basically told the same story, until the show took a bolder, more twisted direction than “Twilight.”

So, in today’s media environment, these two once-fresh franchises now look stale, buried in the sands of time and trends.

‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Has Teased ‘Twilight’ Infamous Vampire Baseball their own vampire kick order, and more fun.

Over the past decade, every character or plot in these franchises has been mined as a punchline — to the point that a new show that earnestly tries to replicate the real thing can seem dull.

And that’s not even mentioning the poorly aged components.

Everyone laughs at the “Potter” plot where Hermione tries to free what is essentially a slave (house-elf)?

The Twilight Saga episode where Jacob falls in love with the baby? oops!

There are many other popular books that have yet to be adapted for TV…not yet.

We don’t need to do this.

At least, the shows can cover different regions.

House of Dragons gave us more Game of Thrones before most of us wanted to.But that’s a different story new role.

Both Twilight and Harry Potter could borrow from this script — Twilight could play out Carlisle Cullen’s origin story, or Harry Potter could make one The “Spoilers” series about Harry’s parents’ generation.

Instead, they opted for a lazy redesign.

If you’re going to do a nostalgia show, at least try some imagination.

Both Twilight and Harry Potter are unique pop culture moments in the world.

But Hollywood seems to have no idea about the phenomenon known as “lightning in a bottle.”

The more they try to get it back, the more futile it becomes — and, moreover, the dumber they look.
