free movies
How many streaming movie and TV services do you subscribe to? If it is one or two, the financial burden is not great. But prices are going up, and it all adds up. Fortunately, there are plenty of free services:
- crack: The ad-supported streaming service has a huge library of hit movies and old TV shows.
- Freevee (formerly IMDb TV): Freevee has a lot of content, some of it from its parent company, Amazon. It has commercials, but not as many as network TV. You need an Amazon account to use Freevee.
- Canopy: Backed by libraries and universities, Kanopy offers thousands of classic movies for free if you have an applicable public library card or school ID.
- Pluto TV: The service offers over 250 curated channels and thousands of movies and TV shows for free.
- Tube TV: Tubi has it all, from quirky arthouse movies to history-making classics and hit TV shows. The design is reminiscent of Netflix: just select your preferred genre and you’ll see Tubi’s library of options. Although it’s ad-supported, the ads aren’t overwhelming.
- Peacock: The free ad-supported tier has movies, TV shows, and live channels. It has an impressive library of content and is available as apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Fire TV, and more.
- Year: If you have a Roku, you can visit The Roku Channel for free movie and TV content. Stream live programming on The Roku Channel and watch an ever-changing catalog of movies and TV shows, all for free.
- YouTube: YouTube has thousands of TV episodes to watch for free. But like most content on the platform, you’ll have to pass some ads to get access to watch it. here’s what you need to know.

When was the last time you went to the library?
Public libraries these days don’t just offer old-fashioned books for free. Now you can borrow music CDs, movies and even eBooks. That’s it.
First, find your local library online to see if it offers free ebook lending. In some cities, you can download e-books from libraries and keep them anywhere from one to three weeks.
If you’re enrolled in college, check out options through the online campus library. You might be surprised how much you’ll find.

spotify music
Spotify is one of the biggest players in the game and has long been the leader in the streaming segment. What is its biggest feature? Create and share as many playlists as you want from nearly 50 million songs—the equivalent of making a mixtape for someone. Spotify says it adds 40,000 new songs every day.
advantage:
- Includes podcasts and music.
- Tons of playlist recommendations.
- You can share playlists with your friends.
shortcoming:
- You cannot select individual songs to play.
- The free version has limited sound quality.
- You can only skip six times per hour.
iHeartRadio
Sometimes you just want to listen to some old fashioned radio. That’s where the iHeartRadio app comes in. You can stream any station from anywhere in the United States. You can also create playlists, though the options are much more limited than with services like Spotify.
advantage:
- Live broadcast anytime, anywhere.
- Personalized Artist Radio.
- Full access to podcast library.
shortcoming:
- Limited music selection.
- Limited skips.
- Unable to order songs or albums.
- Unable to download songs for offline listening.
Pandora
Pandora was one of the first platforms in the music streaming game. Its algorithms are very successful at personalizing your music experience. The downside is the same as most: you can only skip a certain number of songs, and you can’t rewind songs to listen to them again.
advantage:
- Algorithm-tailored recommendations.
- Radio-style playlists.
shortcoming:
- There is a limited number of skips per hour.
- Unable to rewind song.
- Unable to share playlist.
Amazon Prime Music
Amazon has jumped into the game with its own music streaming service. While everything else on this list has free versions, Amazon Prime Music isn’t really free. You still need an Amazon Prime subscription to get started. But with infinite skips, it might be worth considering. Although, if you don’t upgrade to the premium version, you may be missing many songs that you might want to listen to.
advantage:

- Not necessarily free (you have to subscribe to Amazon Prime).
