Oxford, miss. – When singer Morgan Wallen abruptly canceled his show at Vaught Hemingway Stadium Sunday night, thousands of county music fans awaited his arrival.
WTVA TV Report A video board inside the Ole Miss football stadium showed a message that the “Thought You Should Know” singer had lost his voice and was unable to perform, adding that money would be refunded at the ticket office.
Some expressed outrage on social media that the cancellation was announced after the opening performance.
While Warren is one of country music’s brightest stars, he’s no stranger to controversy.he is caught on camera Shouting profanity and racial slurs outside a residence in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2021. He apologized at the time, but was suspended indefinitely and his music pulled from radio stations and streaming services.
The year before, Warren had been arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being kicked out of a bar in downtown Nashville.
The sudden cancellation ended what was supposed to be two nights of performances by one of country music’s hottest stars. Saturday night’s show appeared to be a huge success, with thousands turning out for the first concert in the stadium’s history.
