Dubai: As a Chinese citizen, have you obtained a degree in the UAE? If you plan to use this degree in China, you first need to know how to prove it. Here is a detailed guide on procedures and fees.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Education website, if you are a Chinese citizen holding an overseas degree, you need to obtain proof of use in China in areas such as employment and further education.

Here are the three steps to getting proof of your degree:
1. Prepare all documents
According to the website of the Service Center of the Ministry of Education, the following materials are required for certification:
- Degree (in PDF format, not to exceed 5 megabytes in size).
- The first page of the passport used during the study period (.JPG format, within 1 megabyte).
- Visa pages of passports, overseas resident ID cards, and electronic visa pages used during study (.JPG format, within 1 megabyte per page).
- A photo of you (.JPG format, no larger than 1 megabyte) taken within the last six months.

- Your complete transcript.
- Any other supporting documents required for your case will be communicated to you by Service Center staff through your account on the website.

2. Fill out the online application form
Once you have all the documents ready, you need to complete the online application form to complete the certification process. The following are the detailed steps:
Register for ‘wangzheng’
To start the online application form, you need to first register with “wangzheng”.
What is “Network Administration” and how to register?
“Net certificate” is China’s digital resident ID card. You can obtain it through the “Network Administration CTID” WeChat applet.
– On the homepage of the Mini Program, click “Get Resident Wangzheng”.
– You need to fill in your full name and Chinese ID number on the next page. Then tap “Face Recognition”.
– Next, click on “Personal Information Processing Rules” and read the information carefully.
– After reading the information, check the preceding box and click Next.
– The next page will scan your face. Then, a message will pop up saying “Passed”, which means you have successfully registered.
Online platform registration
After registering “NetZheng”, you need to register an account on the network platform: http://lxyzt.cscse.edu.cn/personalRegister.
- You will be asked to register by phone number or by email address. If you choose to register by phone number, please enter your Chinese phone number; if you choose to register by email, please enter your email address. Then click “Send Verification Code”.
- Once you receive the verification code, fill it in the “Verification Code” field. Fill out the captcha area and check the “I have read and I agree to the terms and conditions” checkbox. Then click “Register”.
- You will then receive a message with your username on the registered phone or registered email address.

- Go to the home page and select “Personal User Login”. Then log in with your username.
- The next page provides a brief overview of all required documents, the application process, processing times, and where you can get your certification results. Read the information carefully and click “Start Certification Application”.
- On the next page, click Add Proof Application.
- Then you will see a page that says “Overseas Degree Certification Service Agreement”. Read the information on this page carefully, then click “I agree to the above agreement and continue to apply” at the bottom of the page.
- Scan the first QR code on the next page to download the “China National Comprehensive Online Government Service Platform” mobile application.
- Open the app on your phone. Click the scan icon in the upper right corner of the home page, and then scan the second QR code on the web page.

- You will then be directed to a page in the phone app for facial recognition. Click “Start Face Recognition”.
- Scan your face as requested. After that, a message will appear on the screen of the mobile phone – “Real person authentication successful”.
- Enter the two webpages with the same QR code, click “Complete real person authentication, obtain entry and exit records”
- The next page will show your entry and exit records for the past 10 years. Click “Next”. If your degree was awarded more than 10 years ago, you will need to upload all stamps entered and exited from China during your studies before uploading your documents.
- On the next page, you need to fill in your basic information – name, gender, identification document type, ID number, mobile phone number, email address, nationality, date of birth and landline phone number. Then, click Next.
- On the next page, select “Overseas Degree Verification” and click “Next”.
- After that, fill in the details of the degree – the issuing country, the issuing time, the Chinese and English name of the issuing school/university, the Chinese and English name of the degree, the degree level, the Chinese and English name of the subject, the subject category and your name according to the dissertation.
- On the same page, fill in the information in the “Study Experience” section – the city and country you studied in, the name of the school/university in English and Chinese, the start and end dates of your study period.
- Then select “Yes” or “No” in the “Are there any remote classes?” column. If you select ‘Yes’, you will need to specify course details.
- Select “Yes” or “No” in the column “Have you studied any courses in China?” Then, click Next.
- Afterwards, you will be required to fill in information on at least two previous education experiences, including high school education – place of study, name of school/university, start and end dates, degree level and subject. Then, click Next.
Upload documents and submit application
- Next you need to upload all mentioned files. Then click “Next”.
- A page will be displayed providing a summary of your application. Read the abstract carefully and click submit.
3. Payment
You will then be directed to the payment page where you can pay via WeChat Pay or Alipay.the cost is 360 yuan (Dh191.57).
