Formula 1 No stranger to live events, with dozens of races held each year around the world.
But this year, in connection with the Miami Grand Prix, Liberty Media-owned motorsports is experimenting with a new idea: a live sports, entertainment and business summit.
known as F1 accelerate, summit meeting is a partnership with WSJ’s Custom Events, a partnership between Dow Jones and wall street journaland will be held at the Rubell Museum in Miami, Florida on May 4, the day before the Miami Grand Prix begins.
The world of entertainment will be fully represented at the invite-only summit, Top Gun: Maverick Filmmakers Jerry Bruckheimer and Joseph Kosinski kick off discussions Their upcoming F1 movie Starring Brad Pitt, production will begin this summer and be distributed by Apple.
Additionally, Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden and F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff will discuss the importance of female storytelling; F1 star Lewis Hamilton will discuss using his platform to drive change; F1 CEO Stefano Stefano Domenicali and Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei will discuss the future of the sport with other entertainment players.

WSJ’s Custom Events works with corporate partners (the WSJ newsroom is not involved) to produce live events, leveraging the company’s experience in producing engaging summits like WSJ Tech Live to bring engaging conversations to the live experience.

The Accelerate summit comes as F1 is undergoing a bigger rollout in the U.S. While the sport has long enjoyed worldwide popularity, Liberty Media make it a priority expand its presence in North America.
That means expanding the number of races to complement the U.S. Grand Prix, held primarily at Texas’ Circuit of the Americas for the past decade, to include the Miami Grand Prix (which debuted last year) and the upcoming Las Vegas The Grand Prix will debut in November.
Bringing together entertainment, live and business leaders, F1 Accelerate Summit furthers the sport’s momentum in the US and makes it a must-attend event.
