Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the busiest destinations at Mumbai Airport; recording 55% of route traffic

[ad_1]

The main tourist attractions in the UAE are concentrated in the two important cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The two cities set major records in terms of international passenger traffic at Mumbai International Airport, according to the latest statistics. So basically what we are trying to say is that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj recorded Dubai and Abu Dhabi as their busiest destinations from India.

As of now, the Middle East accounts for 55% of Mumbai Airport’s international passenger traffic. Between April 2022 and March 2023, Indian airports handled 2.3 million passengers to and from Dubai. Abu Dhabi recorded a record 800,000 visitors. Of the total 44 million passengers who use Mumbai’s airports in a year, 11.2 million are overseas.

The total number of passengers using Mumbai’s airports in a year was 44 million, including 11.2 million tourists from other countries. About 3.5 million Indians currently live and work in the UAE in various occupations. The two countries also recently signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa) aimed at expanding commerce and reducing trade restrictions on various goods.

What do the statistics show?

With 9.8 million passengers, the most of any country, India is the most popular destination for passengers flying to Dubai International (DXB) Airport in 2022.

Emirates, the flag carrier of Dubai, is the third-largest airline flying out of Mumbai Airport, carrying 10% of all passengers, behind IndiGo (17%) and Air India (12%).

We believe it is safe to say that Mumbai International Airport is the most populated airport on the India-UAE route. More specifically, Mumbai-Dubai and Mumbai-Abu Dhabi routes had the most check-ins.

But why? Expats currently living in the Gulf countries take advantage of any given opportunity to visit their home countries. Indian expats from the UAE booked their tickets in advance to travel on the above-mentioned flights during the Eid long weekend.

We are not surprised to know this news as we know the excellence and traffic of Mumbai airport.
