UAE-based hospitality company TIME Hotels will reaffirm its position as a strong advocate of sustainable development during the 2023 Arabian Travel Market (ATM), held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 1-4 May.
From the design and production of the stand, to the ecological practices on display, TIME Hotels will showcase its impressive environmental credentials at the global travel event.
From a design standpoint, the ATM’s TIME booth is made from recycled materials and its structure is coated with biodegradable paint – a greener alternative to toxic paint that takes longer to decompose. LED lights illuminate the booth, which is more energy-efficient and has a longer service life. In order to minimize the carbon footprint involved in the entire process, materials are delivered to the site in one go.
The stand will be reused for future events over the next three years (for the 2024 and 2025 editions of the ATM), and materials will be stored in a sustainably operated warehouse. Any materials that cannot be reused are taken to a licensed recycling center so they can continue their journey elsewhere.
Mohamed Awadalla, CEO of TIME Hotels, commented: “Over the past decade, TIME Hotels has successfully implemented a number of market-leading environmental initiatives. We are delighted that sustainability will be the focus at ATM 2023 and look forward to sharing insights on our environmental practices Latest news. We have considered every detail of our presence at the ATM to ensure TIME Hotels’ sustainability goals and initiatives are on-site.”
Visitors to TIME Hotels’ stand at ATM 2023 will be able to learn about its hydroelectric and hydroponic farming initiatives at its hotels in Egypt and Morocco. One of the oldest and largest renewable energy sources, hydroelectric power uses the natural flow of flowing water to generate electricity, which is then stored and used to generate electricity. The version shown is a scale example of what has been implemented and will also be used to power elements of the stand during the ATM.
Beyond ATMs, TIME Hotels has implemented various initiatives to support the net zero drive. These include the installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargers at two properties in Dubai, joining the Emirates Environment Group (EEG) Recycle, Reforestation, Repeat initiative, and implementing several environmental policies over the last 12 months, such as tracking quantities consumed Petrol, Diesel and LPG to monitor and ultimately reduce their carbon footprint.
TIME has also met its goal of reducing single-use plastic use by 90% by 2022 and is on track to achieve 100% by 2023.
The 30th edition of ATM will explore the future of sustainable tourism under its theme ‘Towards Net Zero’. Following the official launch of the Net Zero Journey, this year’s conference program will explore how innovative sustainable travel trends may evolve, enabling delegates to identify growth strategies for key verticals while providing a platform for regional experts to explore the future of sustainable tourism.
